FULL UPDATE  AND INSIGHT ON THE ENERGISE EDUCATION PROJECT ONGOING ON CAMPUS

A Cross section was held with the Student Union Government President, Department of Physical Planning, the contractors and the consultants on the 16th of March, 2019.

About the ongoing solar energy project on FUPRE campus  the project is a 0.5mega watts uninterrupted power supply which started at about August last year (2018) and it's expected to be completed around May/June 2019.

As we know Power is almost equivalent to life. And Power supply has been one of the major challenge here on Federal University of Petroleum resources Effurun(FUPRE) campus in the. Which in place has affected the output of students here in school as we lack 24/7 power supply on campus even in our hostels, as students can't effectively do

·         their Research,

·          Assignments,

·          Practicals,

·          Read and

·         even have their bath before coming to classes.

We as a University have been experiencing a lot of security challenges at night as we mainly depend on the power supply from BEDC

FUPRE happens to be one of the Universities that were selected for the construction of this independent 0.5 Mega- Watts (Solar) power supply and the project is about 40% to 45% complete.

So whats the good news about this?

The good news about this project is that there would be 24/7 power supply on campus and I am sacrosanct that all challenges associated with power would soon become a thing of the past.

So on on this note I want to specially commend the efforts of the

  Vice Chancellor, Prof Akiin Ibadode and his team, not forgetting the Dean of Students Affairs(FUPRE) Engr. Dr. Godswill Ofualagba for the development they have together brought to the University. This is just one of the numerous projects on going in the University
